It took about an hour but I was able to determine that it was a corrupted print driver. I downloaded the updated driver and she and her family were printing once more.
I did not ask for payment but I left her house feeling elated as though I had discovered the secret of life. I found that I could provide a useful service and that there would be a great personal benefit for me.
That is why I enjoy helping people with re-establishing their personal relationship with their computers but of course now I charge for it.
